I'd rather see him do Ray Gunn or something different. I love The Incredibles and I'm curious to see what a sequel would be like but I don't think its crying out for one as the original was rounded off nicely.

Unfortunately its out of stock. I'll try and keep an eye on the site though and see if it comes back in stock.

As we are discussing adult animation, is anybody else a fan of René Laloux's Fantastic Planet? Sure the animation is crude but the art direction is lovely as is the story.

It does have a 2008 release date at the moment I'm just foolishly hoping it gets moved forward. :)

Thats a real shame. I want to see the proper cut now. I have to say though, the US cut is still a great film.

I think this year has some potentially interesting films coming out (sadly not too many are of the animated variety for me). The Fountain (just come out in the UK) Grindhouse Paprika TMNT Zodiac Ratatouille There Will Be Blood I'm Not There Hellboy 2 The Fantastic Mr Fox/Where the Wild Things Are - ...

I'd love to see Del Toro do it actually (as long as he had the freedom).

It was on a couple of weeks ago which means there is a good chance it will be on again sometime in the next couple of months.

The last time I watched it was on DVD so it may well have been the US cut. I'm sure I have seen the other version to but it was so long ago I can't really remember if anything had been cut or not for the DVD release.

There is a far greater lack of diversity in the animated films in the US and UK at the moment than in Japap, imo OK....this statement....I don't mean to challenge what you say just for the sake of it, I'm just trying to understand....when you talk about "diversity" in Japanese animation--do you mea...

The Mysterious Geographic Explorations of Jasper Morello

http://www.comicon.com/thebeat/wallpaper05_1024.jpg I'm not sure if this has appeared on the forum before but I thought it might be of some interest. It is an Australian made animated short using computer graphics to replicate the old silhouette style of animation. The story is set in a Laputa/Lost...

2d Animation will not die as long as japanese anime lives! On the one hand I do agree with this, but.... What everyone loves most about 2d animation is the emotional connection to the characters through their expressions and moods. The truth is that Anime expressions are often quite limited (let's ...

Well, a "cartoon" doesn't have to include graphic sex or violence to be an "adult" animated film. Watership Down and The Plague Dogs are two that come to mind that are exceptionally well told stories aimed at a mature audience, that just happen to be animated "cartoons". I love Plague Dogs and it s...

I'm pretty sure its only the Toy Story films (please correct me if I am wrong) that have the actors names on the posters from Pixar and that is the way it should be. Monsters Inc. and Cars did as well. Perhaps it is different in the UK as it is in the US because neither of those films had promotion...
