And they wonder why people just wait a couple more weeks and import the DVD.

I'd be surprised if Rat isn't out by September or October anyhoo, certainly by mid-November, which I can wait for.

Disney is just doing what every boxofficeguru said: Put Ratatouille out of the most crowded summer in years!

This is gorgeous stuff... my sister is getting home in a few minutes and I can't wait to play the trailer for her. She owns a mouse and loved the mouselike behaviors they gave Mrs. Brisby in Secret of NIMH... I can only imagine her reaction to this. :) Remy is adorably rodentlike.

And man, the textures/water/cloth... yikes. It's amazing how spending a year actually learning about this stuff changes how floored I can be about things I totally took for granted/ignored only a few years ago. Remy's fur got all spiky when he was wet, and the difference in the way the cloth on Linguini's apron thingy moved after he fell in the river... this is great stuff. </dork>

Now for the wait... I can do it! Hopefully this won't do another Cars where the story wasn't able to quite live up to the gorgeous visuals (even though I did think it was a good popcorn movie if not the Deepest and Most Original Thing Ever. ;))
